Machining Pathway

• Working in engineering
• Covering basic mechanical maintenance techniques
• Introducing fundamental electronics

Electrical Pathway

• Working in engineering
• Carrying out electronics assembly
• Carrying out electrical assembly

Entry requirements

There are no specific entry requirements for this course. However, you may be required to study functional skills in English and/or maths.

Assessment methods

This course has a range of assessment methods including online multiple-choice exams, practical assessments and written exams.

What's next?

This course is a platform for progression onto other level 2 qualifications in engineering for example, the Level 2 Diploma in Engineering (full-time course) at the College.

On successful completion of the course you may progress into employment within the engineering/manufacturing sector in job roles such as:

• machine operator
• machine setter
• electronics assembly operative.
